Blackberry Pie

A delicious and filling packed blackberry pie.

Ingredients
  • Favorite double crust pie dough
  • 5 pints blackberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 lemon (juiced)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
Instructions
  1. Prepare pie crust and set in the fridge for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  3. In a large bowl, toss blackberries with the sugar, flour and lemon juice.
  4. Roll out pie dough and placed bottom crust into pie pan. Pour blackberry filling into pie pan and place top crust on top. Pinch top and bottom crust together. Make 3 small slits in the top crust and brush on the beaten egg.
  5. Place in a 425-degree oven for 15 min. Then reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees. Bake for an additional 25 – 30 minutes until crust is brown and filling is bubbling. Place aluminum foil or pie shield on top of pie if edges are browning too quickly.
  6. Let cool for 2 – 3 hours. Serve and enjoy!
